Wrong detection of camera resolution. 2 Years, 7 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi there
I've got a problem

I own a philips SPC620NC, which has a 640*480 image sensor.
Now, RSF is detecting it as 320*240, or even lower...
Is there any solution for this?
I would really try out your applications

Thanks anyway

Hi mendel,

I don't have one of those cameras at hand. Hit Escape (after selecting a Webcam App) and then Options and mouse over the "Camera Resolution:" entry. When you press the left mouse button repeatedly what resolutions does it report?

Thanks.

All right...
When I start an application, there appears an popupwindow telling me that my webcam is to low for the minimum requirements of the application... So I even can't press the esc-button before the app closes...

But when I manually delete the /data/gen/options.txt-file and i try to start an application the settings menu does appear.
And that's telling me only "320*240" is supporterd?
Which is, according to me, wrong

Ah, most industrious of you to seek out the options.txt file
Yes, the specs I was just looking at indicate your camera is capable of 640x480 24 bit video. I'll crack open the code tomorrow (its 3 am here and everything is blurry) and see if I can work it out from first principles but I imagine I might need to actually get hold of this camera to work it out which might take a little while. Thanks for your help, sorry I can't help you just yet.

No problem.
Take your time
I rather see it fixed someday than not fixed at all

Goodnight anyway

Just a quick update. Up until release I'd only tested on Logitech webcams. I've tried it out on a Microsoft webcam now and that works. Unfortunately I can't locate a Philips webcam anywhere here. I'd like to get it running on these though so I'll order one from somewhere. Will post an update in the coming weeks once I've got the webcam and tried it out.
